On my journey to financial freedom and personal development I am saying YES to a lot of great Networking events. This past week I had the privilege of attending a really inspiring luncheon at a local restaurant. Besides talking with several fabulous ladies I also learned some great tips from a top leader inside of Network Marketing. The speaker called them the 10 Habits of Highly Effective Networkers. I will list them all and then give a quick overview of each. Enjoy!!
- Develop People Skills
Assert yourself positively in all settings. Don’t run the show! Don’t be a me monster. Make sure to ask questions and be a GOOD listener. Be professional (appearance, be on time, do what you say you are going to do).
2. Exercise Honestly and Integrity
A really great book suggestion: “What You Do When No one is Watching” by Henry Cloud
3. Set Goals
Be a PLANNER. Make a daily plan, a weekly plan, a monthly. Actually WRITE it down, put it in a calendar or planner and STICK TO IT! Make a list!! I myself love to MARK off my list with a big marker… I like seeing what I’ve accomplished and quickly be able to see what I still need to do.
4. Make and Keep Commitments
If you say your are going to call someone, call them!! If you are going to send someone a message with information, SEND it…in a timely manner.
5. Learn to Contribute
It is so important that we give back. We were not put on this world to TAKE TAKE TAKE. In order for our lives to turn smoothly like a wheel we must keep our lives in balance. Try filling out the Wheel of Life Diagram. Here is a link: https://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newHTE_93.htm
6. Live a Healthy Lifestyle
People enjoy being around others that are full of life and energy. Take God’s happy pill—EXERCISE! Exercise and movement are so important to keeping yourself motivated and energized. People will respond to your energy and see your spark. Eat a well balanced diet, take your vitamins, and take care of yourself!
7. Work Hard
Look toward the long term BUT always CELEBRATE small successes!! There will always be work that needs to be done…that IS a good thing. Besides leading you to your long term future goals, it also makes you stronger, keeps you nimble, makes you a better leader. Get out there!! Go after what you want!! Work hard for it!! and remember NOTHING fun happens inside of your comfort zone.
8. Learn to Prioritize and Organize
Learn to organize your life. Organize your desk, your home, your car, etc. all the places that you see EVERYDAY. When these places are cluttered they cause you unnecessary stress that takes ENERGY away from your goals.
9. Follow-up Effectively
I’m sure by now you have heard that “the fortune is in the follow-up”. So make sure you follow up with each prospect. In general, a person will need to be exposed to a product and/or opportunity 5 times before making a decision. So DON’T give up!!
10. Maintain a Positive Attitude
Your energy will be felt by those around you. Yes, we all have bad days, we all have NOs, people will be skeptical…but remember your WHY and stay positive!
